Oil suction filter, also known as filter assembly or oil filter, is a filtering device installed at the oil pump suction port in hydraulic systems. It is mainly used to intercept pollutants in the oil to protect hydraulic components and is commonly used in concrete mixer truck radiators and other scenarios. It prevents impurities from entering the system by controlling the cleanliness of the oil, but cannot directly regulate the concentration of pollutants.
This device is usually installed on the side, upper or bottom of the fuel tank, equipped with self sealing valves and bypass valves to prevent oil leakage or pump body cavitation when replacing the filter element. Filter cartridges often use 100-200 mesh coarse metal mesh or star shaped folding materials (such as stainless steel, glass fiber reinforced polyamide), which balance large filtration area and low pressure drop characteristics. The core performance indicators include filtration accuracy (covering 10-800 μ m), initial pressure drop (≤ 0.25MPa for aviation/naval use, 0.08-0.15MPa for mechanical use), and fouling capacity. The filtration accuracy is divided into four levels: coarse, ordinary, fine, and special fine. Some models have built-in pollution sensors to monitor blockage status, with an alarm value of 0.018MPa for vacuum degree.
Filtration accuracy: Oil suction filters usually adopt a coarse filtration design (with a filtration accuracy of generally 80-100 μ m), mainly intercepting large particle impurities (such as metal shavings, fibers, etc.) in the oil to prevent them from entering the oil pump and avoid pump body wear or jamming.
Low pressure design: Due to its installation at the oil pump suction port, the filter needs to withstand low pressure (generally<0.1MPa), so the structure is simple and the resistance is low, ensuring smooth oil suction of the oil pump.
Connection method: The oil outlet is usually equipped with threaded or flanged connections to meet different pipeline requirements.
Temperature range: It can operate within a wide temperature range (such as -30C to+100C) and adapt to different environmental requirements.
Preventing cavitation: By coarse filtration, the bubbles and impurities in the oil are reduced, reducing the risk of cavitation in the oil pump.
Protect hydraulic components: prevent impurities from entering precision components such as valve groups and servo valves, and extend the overall life of the system.

According to the classification of filter materials, there are: oil filter paper: 10-50um, glass fiber: 1-70um, HV glass fiber: 3-40um, metal mesh: 3-500um, sintered felt: 5-70um, and line gap filter: 15-200um.
Q6: What brands of filter cartridges do you make?
Our factory produces alternative universal filter elements for foreign brands such as Pall, Hedek, Dasheng, Parker, and Rexroth, as well as national standard oil suction filter elements, oil return filter elements, high-pressure filter elements, and coalescence dehydration filter elements. We support non-standard customization. We welcome samples or drawings for processing and customization.
Q7: How can customers choose the appropriate filter size when making their own filters?
We need to provide the flow rate, pressure, external dimensions, accuracy, filter medium and other parameters of the filter designed by the customer. We will provide the customer with the selected filter element size and quantity based on the filter size.
Q8: Is there any difference between filtering kerosene, gasoline, diesel filters and general hydraulic oil filters?
The sealing materials used in the filter element are different. Generally, the sealing ring of hydraulic oil filter element is nitrile rubber, while filtering media such as kerosene, gasoline, and diesel requires the use of fluorine rubber rings.
